Nicolas Cage is a vampire

When working on my paper I was using Know your meme and this picture popped up. Apparently this picture is legitimately from 1870 and has not been tampered with in any way, shape, or form. This bears no reference to the picture, but I can honestly say Nicolas Cage never ceases to amaze me, and not always in a good way (Sorcerer's Apprentice).

  1. I saw another one of these where they used Harry Potter's picture, and they had it lined up next to someone who looks like him. The Harry Potter picture was different because they used some text in order to create a humorous effect. I think the peope who created the Harry Potter picture wanted their picture to go viral, but I think it died before it got the chance. In the beginning, I did not know what the big fuss about this man who looked like Nicolas Cage. But when I took a closer look, I was like WHOA. Apparently, I've read in an article that claimed someone offered/bought this photo for one million dollars.

  2. I think it's kind of sad how hilarious I found this, and I'm trying to imagine the reaction of the person who came across such an old picture. I'm assuming there are naturally other images featuring celebrity "look-alikes" like this, but this is the first time I've viewed this one. In reference to Jennifer's post above, I think it's perfectly humorous without any text; adding text would probably take away from the resemblance itself and focus the viewer's attention to whatever joke the text is attempting. Apparently people in 1870 found maps on the back of the Declaration of Independence too.

  3. Honestly, people never cease to amaze me in how they can turn anything into a meme and really get it to go around. I thought this "look-a-like" Nicolas Cage was humorous, especially titled "Nicholas Cage is a Vampire" and my first thought was to show some of my friends how similar they do look in the photograph. It is a very natural reaction in today's society to want to inform others or share entertaining things such as this. I'm going to add on a few more days of interest to this photo and share it with some others.
I wouldn't even be shocked if it were really on eBay for a million dollars and someone actually bought it.
